Beer Battered Clams

 

2 cups Clams, shucked

1 Warm Flat Beer (12 ounce can)

1½ cups Flour

1 teaspoon Garlic Salt

½ teaspoon Pepper

 

Add Beer, flour, garlic salt and pepper in large bowl.  Whisk thoroughly.  Roll clam strips in a little flour (batter will stick better).  Dip clam strips in batter.  Drop one at a time into a deep fryer with oil heated to 375 degrees.  Fry until pieces float and are golden brown.  About 3 minutes.

 

Note: Do not overcook or clams will become tough and leathery.
