Dutch Oven Spruce Grouse

2 Spruce Grouse, cut into pieces

1 medium Onion, sliced

1 Carrot, sliced

2 cans Cream of Mushroom Soup

¼ cup Water

 

Start a fire.  Add mushroom soup and water, mix well.  Add grouse, onion, and carrot.  Put the lid on.  Place oven in fire and place some hot briquettes on the lid of the Dutch oven.  Cook for about 1 hour.  Serve with toast, biscuits, or buns.

 

Note:  For cooking over fire, purchase a Dutch oven with legs and a concaved lid.
