Grizzly Bear Strategy and Tips
Strategy: During the spring, hunt south facing slopes. These are the first to green up and provide the Bears with their first meals of the year (grass, roots, rodents, etc.). You must be very careful in choosing a spring Bear, because they tend to be rubbed. Be sure to have good optics and check both sides thoroughly for rubs. A rubbed Bear will render your Bearskin rug worthless and the Bear will have sacrificed its life for nothing.
Tip: Hunt the early morning and evening hours. The old saying, the early bird gets the worm, tends to hold true for grizzly hunting. Having thick coats cause grizzlies to bed down and try to avoid the heat of midday.
