Poached Rainbow Trout

 

1 Rainbow Trout, pan size

1 Package onion soup mix

Salt and pepper

 

Fill a large skillet with 1 inch of water.  Add onion soup mix and bring to a boil for about 5 minutes.  Add Rainbow Trout to broth.  Cover with a lid and simmer over low heat for 15 minutes.  Flip trout once halfway through simmering.  Trout will easily peal away from bones when done.  Salt and pepper to taste.

 

Note:  Poaching is actually simmering the fish in a seasoned liquid and not boiling which causes turbulence and will break the fish apart.
