Whitetail Deer Strategy and Tips
Strategy: The single, most important factor to assure a successful hunt is preseason scouting. Check trails between bedding and feeding areas for rubs and scrapes. When hunting large tracts of land, use topography maps and consider hiring an airplane to look over the lay of the land. Look for natural funnels to set up your stand.
Tip: The whitetail’s, number one, defense is its nose. Besides hunting down wind, you also need to consider the following. Clothing - wash with scent free detergents and store in airtight containers. Your body - clean with scent killing soap and shampoo before the hunt. Equipment - spray binoculars, guns, etc. with scent killing spray and store in airtight containers.
